Wish List 2010 Si Mbak

Wish List ini sebenarnya postingan dari blog gue yang lain. Kenapa diputuskan untuk dipublish lagi disini karena menurut saya, this one is kinda essential.

Postingan ini soal dua wishlist yang pernah saya tulis. Satu di tahun 2009 (dengan catatan komentar mengenai kenyataan yang terjadi setelah empat bulan) dan satu lagi di tahun 2010. Cekidot.

my wish list ( written September 24th 2009) :

1. A house. An apartement to be exact. I put this on the top my list as a constant reminder for me not to be such stupid money spender. Also a reminder for me to be serious with my future. To do : extensive research !! --> January 2010 : in reality, after 4 months I still dont get the house or the apartement I wanted. the price is still too high for me and I do have other plan about using my money. But let's talk about it later.



2. A side job. no, not a writer. I know I can’t count on that. I’m such a lousy writer. right now I’m waiting to get another call from Eloquence (I’m applying to be tutor there). If I don’t get accepted ? Find another one. To do : extensive research (focus on : tutoring place such as LIA and EF, freelance translator, non profit organization such as ADB, WorldBank, DSF and Mandiri Bank) --> January 2010 : I actually got the job in Eloquence, did teaching job there for about three months but then due to some unfortunate emotional circumstances on my side, I decided to quit. But hey those three months was quite an experience for me :)) Miss u all my kids.

3. Swimming ability. I HAVE to able to swim once this holiday ends ! --> January 2010 : I am able to swim now guys although I still dont have the courage yet to swim all by myself. I'm still scared about the drowning possibility

4. My (still) ambition (or should I say hallucination ?) to be writer. to do : send translation example to gagas media and serambi publisher, finish my story for Femina (oh just accept me this once !) and starting another novel --> January 2010 : well femina rejected my story (and still I'm being stubborn and send another one :p ) but here comes the big thing : My first original novel (not translated) is being published by GagasMedia Publisher and going to be distributed on February 2010. I still have a couple of worries now concerning the contract and everything (I still dont have it in my hand) but let's think about that later.

5. scholarship. hope my ADS application got accepted. if not : start to look another scholarship. focus in Indonesia ! --> January 2010 : ADS actually called me! last week I had my last interview and if I got this scholarship, they will give the announcement by letter in the middle of February. so waiting forward for it.

Overall that was a good 4 months. Now I have to come up with another plan written in the form of wish list.

My Wish List Part 2 (written January 2010) :

1. Okay, I got my eyes set on ADS. this is like a huge opportunity (I even turned down AED for Ausaid scholarship) and I really, really hope I will have the chance to study in Monash (yes I choose that one). But just in case I failed, I think I will focus to apply for study course in University of Indonesia (I once thought about pursuing my master in psychology in UGM but I dont know.. :P)

2. A side job as freelance translator and writer. uhuy! to do : research, research. so far not so good (two publisher has rejected me so far :p)

3. Write another novel, publish it again. two more novels, I might be thinking of getting out this job

okay, lets see in another four months
